ADA Partners

The consortium brings together International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), Christian Aid (CA), Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) and Met Office Partners take responsibility for the work in different counties: Christian Aid leads in Kitui and Makueni, through its local partner Anglican Development Services Eastern (ADS-E) while IIED also the grant holder, leads the work in Garissa, Isiolo and Wajir through three local partners: WomanKind Kenya, Resource Advocacy Programme (RAP) in Isiolo and Arid Lands Development Focus (ALDEF) in Wajir respectively. The Kenya Meteorological Services and the Met Office provide technical support to the Consortium in climate information services across all the five counties. Partners supports the county governments of Garissa, Isiolo, Kitui, Makueni and Wajir to mainstream climate change into planning.

National Drought Management Authority hosts the Consortium’s Secretariat consisting of a Coordinator, a Communications Officer and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. The Secretariat is responsible for oversight of all activities; sharing of lessons and experiences; mainstreaming of tested approaches into planning at national level and to ensure that the project delivers on the agreed results using the integrated approach criteria.

The Consortium also works with several ministry department and agencies including the National Treasury, Climate Change Directorate and National Environment Management Authority ( NEMA) to ensure proper alignment with nationally policy and processes. Equally important are the Ministry of Devolution and Planning and Council of Governors for upscaling the integrated approach nationally
